Jalen Swank is a proud Fresno native, mother, and a trusted friend to everyone she meets. She earned her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Social Work, Africana Studies, Women’s Studies, and Cultural Competency. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Public Administration while working full‑time for the Fresno County Department of Public Health.
Jalen previously served in the One Fresno Youth Jobs Corps Program, where she was promoted to Management Analyst within the Personnel Department. In that role, she became instrumental in serving youth—primarily in Districts 3 and 4—by supporting intern placements and helping secure a $1.2 million grant to continue the program before completing her service hours in April 2024.
Outside of her professional work, Jalen is deeply rooted in her faith, community, and family. She has held multiple board positions and remains active in organizations dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities. She shows up because the need is real—and because she believes every person deserves to be seen, supported, and valued.
Shaped by her lived experiences and a character‑driven upbringing, Jalen leads with integrity and compassion. She is bold in the face of injustice, unwavering in her commitment to community, and brings accountable, accessible, and visible leadership to Fresno.
